A classic diamond 4 claw solitaire gives a little simplicity to the design and with only 4 claws being featured, keeps the diamond more exposed. A 4 claw will give a round diamond a slightly squarer look as your eyes attention gets attracted to the 4 points of the claws holding in the diamond.
A 6 claw diamond solitaire is the most common of any solitaire design. With the 6 claws evenly spaces around the diamond keeping it looking its true round shape. Often a 6 claw setting can give the look of the diamond being slightly larger than it actually is as adding to its appeal.
